OEM engineers have done a great job with the
fuel injection. They have
many sensors that are used to determine what the proper fuel mixture
should be under almost any condition.
What they don’t have is a sensor to detect if you have removed
your air box lid, put in an aftermarket filter, or changed your exhaust
system.
That’s where the DRD Mod Box comes in.
The DRD Mod Box uses the stock fuel map and all of the sensors
that are built in and then modifying the input to let the vehicle know
that there is a DRD exhaust or other modifications that the sensors
cannot detect.
This is all accomplished using state of the art data acquisition
equipment mounted on the vehicle and the riding it under various
conditions. Though DRD owns
and uses a dyno, DRD does not rely solely on a dyno.
There are very few “dyno races”, so why spend a lot of time
tuning to give the best dyno run? Multi
time champion and exceptional test rider Doug Dubach, rides with the
data acquisition equipment logging various sensors as well as his
“MARK” button. This
button allows him to “mark” an area that he feels is lacking in
performance, or is performing well, so that further tuning and
adjustments may be made in that particular area, under those particular
conditions.
The DRD Mod Box is set for optimal performance for
your particular vehicle when you purchase it.
But, you may still make further fine tuning adjustments to suit
your riding style or track conditions.
The DRD Mod Box allows adjustments to be made
in the amount of fuel at different load settings and also allows
adjustments to be made as to when these load settings are in effect.
