’00-’06 CRF/XR50 shock spring installation instructions

  1. Remove seat

  2. Remove shock

  3. Press out steel sleeve from top of shock 

  4. Remove rubber bushing and slide bumper down to prevent heat damage

  5. Heat aluminum shock eye

  6. Loosen 14mm hex nut

  7. Unscrew shock eye

  8. Replace spring

  9. Clean out threaded hole in shock eye

  10. Screw shock eye on shaft with drop of Blue locktite

  11. Tighten 14mm jam nut

  12. Grease and install rubber bushing

  13. Grease and install steel sleeve

  14. Mount shock on bike

  15. Install seat
